Worcester Railers HC announce 2017-18 promotional schedule

The Railers will host 36 games at the DCU Center this season

Worcester, MA – The Worcester Railers Hockey Club (@RailersHC), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the New York Islanders (@NYIslanders) has announced the team’s initial 2017-18 promotional schedule to begin their inaugural season of ECHL action at the DCU Center.

The Railers hit the ice on Oct 14 with an Opening Night Extravaganza which will include a magnet schedule giveaway and a full slate of festivities.  Complete details of opening night will be announced at a later date.

All 13 Saturday night games will feature a special promotion this season which include three bobblehead giveaways (Dec 2, Feb 3, Mar 3), a fan voted giveaway item on Jan 27, and several theme and specialty jersey nights.

Worcester will wear several specialty jerseys which include a Slap Shot specialty jersey to benefit the American Diabetes Association on Nov 4, a Star Wars specialty jersey to benefit the Shine Initiative presented by Fidelity Bank on Dec 16, a Pink in the Rink jersey to benefit the Cup Crusaders on Feb 10, a Marvel themed jersey on Mar 2 and 3, and a St. Patrick’s Day jersey to benefit Be Like Brit presented by Country Bank on Mar 17.

Every Sunday afternoon game will include a kid’s giveaway item to the first 1,000 children 12-and-under.  Fans may purchase a Family Fun Pack for every Sunday game which includes four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas for just $80.

The Railers have introduced a 2-3-4 promotion for every Friday night game which includes $2 popcorn, $3 hot dogs, and $4 Bud Light beers inside the Bud Light Lounge.

“We wanted to make sure that we had a promotional schedule that would excite a wide range of fans for our games,” said Railers HC president Mike Myers. “We have a very family friendly schedule and we wanted to highlight our weekend dates with exciting promotions.”

New to hockey fans this season, the Railers will host a School Day game on Nov 14 at 10:05am which will feature several school systems throughout the area attending the game with an educational component.

Celebrate Halloween with the Railers on Oct 31 with an on-ice costume parade and trick-or-treating in the concourse presented by Mezcal. Catch a game during the holiday break on Dec 30 on Home for the Holidays Night.

The Railers will host a Marvel themed weekend on Mar 2-3 which will include Marvel characters, a Marvel themed bobblehead, and a Marvel specialty jersey.

Group themed nights include Youth Soccer Night on Nov 3, Scout Night on Jan 20, and Youth Hockey Night on Mar 31.

Fan Appreciation Day is scheduled for Apr 8 which will feature a Boston Bruins Alumni Doubleheader to benefit the Why Me organization.

Theme nights, celebrity autograph sessions, and high school hockey doubleheaders will be announced at a later date. The initial promotional schedule is listed below.
