What is TRAXfit?

TRAXfit is a free introductory street hockey program designed to make the sport more visible, accessible, and fun for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to play. Participants are introduced to fundamental hockey skills through engaging drills and games. Each session concludes with a scrimmage led by TRAX, staff, and volunteers.

 

Program Goal

To provide children with the opportunity to experience hockey, build confidence, stay active, and develop a lifelong interest in the sport.

 

What age group is TRAXfit open to?

TRAXfit is designed for youth participants and welcomes children of varying skill levels, including those with little or no prior hockey experience.

 

Where does this program take place? 

We bring TRAXfit to you! TRAXfit can take place on a sports court outside or an indoor gym. This program is available year-round and is perfect for summer camps, youth groups, after school programming, and gym classes.

How does TRAXfit work? 

After signing up and scheduling a day to take part in TRAXfit, the Worcester Railers will bring all the equipment necessary to your school/program. TRAX and staff members will then go through the following: 

Learn the basics of stick handling.

Practice passing and shooting drills.

Participate in skill-building drills and games.

Finish the session with a fun scrimmage! 

 

2026 Worcester Rec Partnership

We currently partner with Worcester Rec to bring TRAXFit to their summer camps around the city. Camp locations include Logan Field, East Park, Greenwood Park, Burncoat St. Playground, and University Park. To learn more about Worcester Rec and how to enroll in their camps, visit here.
