Kids Are Taking Over the Railers Opening Weekend Game on Sun., Oct. 23rd

Join the Worcester Railers for the team’s first-ever Kids Takeover Game, presented by M&T Bank, benefiting CASA Project Worcester County. The Railers’ youngest fans will be broadcasting, hosting, and leading the charge in entertainment on Sun., Oct. 23rd.

Doors open at the DCU Center at 2 p.m.; puck drops at 3:05 p.m. The afternoon will be packed with kid-centric activity stations, fun music, performances, and the first of seven collectible Worcester Pro Hockey 25th Anniversary posters.

Calling All Future Hockey Broadcasters…

Does your child have dreams of being the voice of the Railers? Three talented, young fans will have an opportunity to join the broadcast team during Sunday’s game and provide color commentary live on 98.9 Nash Icon, the Worcester Railers Radio Network, and FloSports TV.

To enter, please share a video of your child ‘calling a game’ or providing commentary. Videos should be less than one minute in length and should be fun! Please tag the Railers with your video on social media (IG: @railers_hc / Facebook & Twitter: @RailersHC). The contest is open to youth ages 13 and under. The winner will be selected by VIP guests at a later date.

VIP In-Game Guest Host

The afternoon will benefit CASA Project Worcester County, a non-profit directly supporting and advocating on behalf of youth in the foster care system. Railers in-game host and 98.9 Nash Icon radio personality, Adam Webster will be joined on the ice by a special young Railers fan from CASA.

“CASA Project Worcester County is thrilled to partner with the Railers and M&T Bank for this special day,” CASA Project Executive Director Julie Bowditch said. “We are eager to host our 270+ active volunteers and the hundreds of children across the county who they advocate on behalf of each day. It is rare that we have an opportunity to get the kids, caregivers, volunteers, and staff together for a fun, social experience. This memorable game will help to balance the gravity of their typical interactions focused on navigating the court process and seeking a safe and permanent long-term outcome.”

The afternoon is the ultimate, family-friendly start to the 22-23 Railers season. The team is offering a special ticket package: four tickets and four limited edition Season V hats for only $100. Click here to learn more.

Listen to all Railers games live on 98.9 Nash Icon with coverage beginning 30 minutes before puck drop. Watch all games online for a small fee at FloHockey.tv.
