Railers HC Donate 100 Backpacks With School Supplies to Friendly House
All proceeds from the Railers HC Boston Sports Memorabilia Auction went towards backpacks and supplies
On August 26th, the Railers launched the Worcester Railers Boston Sports Memorabilia Auction. Items generously donated by the Telegram & Gazette were available for bidding. Auction proceeds benefited the Railers Booster Club to aid them in their purchase of backpacks and school supplies to be donated to Friendly House. The annual stuffing and donation of backpacks has been a part of Worcester hockey history dating back to the days of the Worcester Sharks. These efforts are spearheaded by Railers Booster Club President, Rich Lundin.
On Wednesday, September 2nd, Railers staff, Booster Club members, and Railers HC forwards Drew Callin and Ross Olsson helped deliver 100 backpacks to the Friendly House in Worcester. The night before, Booster Club members gathered at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center to stuff the backpacks with school supplies including crayons, a notebook, pencils, highlighters, a calculator, a Railers jersey, and more.
