Forward Wade Murphy traded to Greenville

Worcester, MA – The Worcester Railers Hockey Club (@RailersHC), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the New York Islanders (@NYIslanders), and Railers HC General Manager and Head Coach Jamie Russell officially announced today that the club has traded Wade Murphy in exchange for Greenville’s Curt Gogol (@CurtGogoal13).

Gogol (F), 26, played in 27 games for Greenville and put up six points (3G, 3A) and 94 penalty minutes. The Calgary, Alberta native has suited up for four teams in the ECHL including Colorado, Alaska, Florida, and Greenville and for a total of 66 points (30G, 36A) and 392 penalty minutes in 111 games.

The seventh-year pro made his professional debut for the Worcester Sharks (AHL) in 2011. He’s amassed 179 games in the AHL with the Iowa Wild, Ontario Reign, and Worcester Sharks.

In other moves, the Railers have added defensemen Sean Gammage and Vinny Muto from the Southern Professional Hockey League. Both are expected to be in the lineup Wednesday night versus the Reading Royals.

In addition, defenseman Patrick McNally has left the club and joined the Leksands IF of the Allsvenskan in Sweden.
