Welcome to Monkey Wrenches Weekend!

For one weekend only - the Railers are rebranding as the Worcester Monkey Wrenches! Invented in Worcester in 1840, we'll be paying tribute to not just the Monkey Wrench, but to the entire city of Worcester and its rich history of innovation! We'll have 3 new logos, a specialty jersey, new merch, a pennant giveaway on Saturday, and more, so get ready for a fun filled weekend! Scroll down for more info and tickets!

Why Monkey Wrenches?

The Monkey Wrench was invented by Loring Coes & Coes Wrench Company of Worcester, MA in 1840. During the industrial era of the 1860s-1910s, various monkey wrench types were the dominant form of adjustable wrench. A very wide and popular range of monkey wrenches were manufactured by Coes family partnerships, licensees and companies, which filed further wrench patents throughout the 19th century. In 1909, the Coes Wrench Company advertised a six-foot-long "key" wrench, shaped like a monkey wrench, for use on railroads, relating back to the Railers. Worcester Monkey Wrenches Weekend is a weekend to celebrate innovation and the city of Worcester!

Monkey Wrenches Weekend, Day 1 - Friday, Feb. 28th, 7:05 PM Puck Drop

We'll be kicking off our Monkey Wrenches Weekend on Friday, February 28th at 7:05 PM! Join us for this exciting evening in Worcester hockey where we will be taking on a new name, logo, and uniform for the first time!

Exclusive for all Friday games - fans can enjoy $3 Popcorn, $4 Soda, and $5 Bud Light (12 oz) in the Bud Light Lounge!

Monkey Wrenches Weekend, Day 2 - Saturday, March 1st 6:05 PM Puck Drop

We'll keep the fun going with a second night on Saturday, March 1st at 6:05 PM presented by Country Bank! This will be your last chance to see the Monkey Wrenches in action, and we'll be giving away limited edition Monkey Wrenches pennants presented by Jed's Hardware.

We will also be auctioning off game-worn Monkey Wrenches jerseys with proceeds benefitting Be Like Brit, a Central Mass. non-profit dedicated to serving the children of Haiti by establishing a safe, nurturing, and sustainable orphanage.
