Worcester Railers HC sign right winger Malcolm Gould 

Gould posted 38 points in 55 games for Dundee Stars of EIHL last season

WORCESTER, MA – The Worcester Railers Hockey Club (@RailersHC), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the New York Islanders (@NYIslanders), and Railers HC General Manager and Head Coach Jamie Russell (@JamieRussell18) officially announced today that the club has signed forward Malcolm Gould (@Malcolumbus69) to an ECHL contract for the 2018-19 season.

Malcolm Gould joins the Worcester Railers HC after a strong performance with the Dundee Stars of the EIHL last season, where he put up 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points in 55 games. Prior to joining the Stars, the 25-year-old spent a season in France playing for Strasbourg of Ligue Magnus. While with Strasbourg, Gould compiled 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points in just 27 games.

The five-foot-eleven, 181lb North Vancouver, BC native spent four seasons with Michigan Tech of the WCHLA and recorded 32 goals and 43 assists for 75 points in 123 games. The right winger had a standout year his junior season posting 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points in 37 games. He was named to the Second All-Star Team (WCHA) in 2014-15 and the Third All-Star Team (WCHA) in 2015-16.

Before joining the Huskies, Gould played three seasons in the BCHL and put up an impressive 50 goals and 53 assists for 103 points in 118 games.

“Malcolm was a player I remember from junior hockey in the BCHL,” said Russell. “He has a great shot and a shoot first mentality. He is a 3rd year pro that we were able to get on a rookie deal. He has good hockey sense and is a terrific teammate.”

Gould joins Barry Almeida, Woody Hudson, Tommy Kelley, Kyle McKenzie, Connor Doherty, Tommy Panico, Dylan Willick, and Nick Sorkin in signing an ECHL contract with the Railers for the 2018-19 season.

The Worcester Railers HC 2018-19 home opener at the DCU Center is Saturday, October 20 vs. the Maine Mariners.
