Worcester, MA – The Worcester Railers HC (10-9-2-2, 24pts) scored a season high five goals in a 5-1 win over the visiting Adirondack Thunder (13-11-1-1, 28pts) in front of 5,133 fans at the DCU Center on Saturday night.

Patrick McNally recorded three points (2-1-3) in his second straight game, Frankie DiChiara added three assists, Chris Langkow scored twice, and Eamon McAdam made 26 saves in net as the Railers took two of three games vs. the Thunder.  Mike Cornell added two assists while Woody Hudson scored his 6th goal of the season as the Railers fired a season high 44 shots on goal in the victory.

The Railers outshot the Thunder 13-9 in the first period and scored the lone goal in the opening frame.  Patrick McNally (9th) scored his team leading 9th goal of the season with a seeing eye shot from 60 feet through a screen and past netminder Nick Riopel at 15:29. Worcester led 1-0 after 20 minutes of play as Eamon McAdam stood tall in net for the Railers.

It was all Worcester in the second period as the Railers scored three goals on 20 shots on goal.  Woody Hudson (6th) finished off a 3-on-1 rush at 10:36 to give the Railers a 2-0 lead.  Chris Langkow (7th) was alone in front and found a loose puck at 14:33 to extend his point streak to six games and gave Worcester a three-goal edge.  Patrick McNally (10th) struck again at 16:06 with a quick snap shot from 45 feet on the rush to finish off the scoring in period #2.  Shots were 20-7 Railers in the middle frame as Worcester took a 4-0 lead into the second intermission.

The Thunder got on the board at 1:08 as Desmond Bergin (5th) fired a shot through a screen from 50 feet that beat Eamon McAdam to cut the Railers lead to 4-1. Chris Langkow (8th) added an empty netter for the Railers 5th goal as Worcester took home the two points on home ice.

Eamon McAdam (6-5-4) made 25 saves on 26 shots for Worcester…. Mitch Gillam was the backup goalie…. Worcester went 0-for-0 on the power play while Adirondack went 0-for-3…. Yanick Turcotte, Nick Saracino (inj), Ashton Rome (inj), Josh Monk (inj), and Connor Doherty (inj) did not dress for Worcester….Chris Langkow wore the captain C for the Railers due to Rome’s injury….Langkow now has a six-game point streak (6-4-10)… Patrick McNally now leads all ECHL defensemen with ten goals and has six points in the last two games (4-2-6)….Frankie DiChiara added three assists and was +3… Mike Cornell had two assists for Worcester and has three points in his last two games (1-2-3)…..the Railers wore specialty STAR WARS jerseys to benefit the Shine initiative….before the game the Worcester Fire Department Hockey team defeated the MacBoston Hockey Team 5-2.
