Worcester Railers HC Members,

Eric Lindquist (Railers PR and Radio guy) checking in from the Railers HC headquarters at the DCU Center in Worcester.  With the NHL, AHL, and ECHL regular seasons winding down….it gets the Railers HC closer to a regular off-season as we get prepared for opening night on October 14!

Members Update

As of 1pm on April 4 we currently have 1285 members on board for our inaugural season!  There is still PLENTY of time to come on board and score some really, really, really great seats for the upcoming season…so give us a call at 508-365-1750!

Members Event Recap

A BIG thanks for all of the members that made it out to the Manchester Monarchs game vs. the Elmira Jackals on April 2 at Manchester!  We had the 1st unofficial LETS GO RAILERS chant and got to check out ECHL action for the first time as a group.  I had a blast at the event and look forward to another event when the weather gets nicer!

Newbie

Please welcome Sutton, MA native Connor Haynes to the Railers HC ticket staff.  Connor joins us from the Providence Bruins and started with the Railers on April 1. Click HERE for more info on Connor.  We expect to have two more full time employees starting later this month as we continue to build our staff…so be on the lookout!

Cliff Rucker to give commencement at Becker College

Railers HC owner Cliff Rucker has been a VERY busy man over the last 12+ months.  Cliff will be given an honorary degree from Becker College after the gives the commencement speech on May 6 at the DCU Center!

Worcester Hockey Alum

Al Stalock was recalled to the Minnesota Wild last week and made 19 saves in his first start with the Wild in a 5-1 win over the Ottawa Senators.  Stalock grew up in S. St. Paul, MN and got to play in front of his family and friends in Minnesota.  Click HERE to watch some of the saves and Al talking about playing in his home state for the Wild (pretty awesome stuff!)…. Yanni Gourde continues to rip it up for the TB Lightning and now has a four game point streak (3-1-4)….  The San Jose Barracuda (the old Worcester Sharks) continue to lead the AHL in winning percentage at .718% with a 41-14-2-5 record…. Troy Grosenick leads the AHL with TEN shutouts for the Barracuda this season…. Matt Taormina leads all AHL defenseman with 55 points through 65 games for the Syracuse Crunch… JP Anderson was just named the ECHL goaltender of the Month for March posting a 6-0-1 record and a 2.44 GAA with the Adirondack Thunder last month….Mike Wilson was named the ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for March post a +15 rating in 12 games for the Quad City Mallards….Sena Acolatse leads the entire AHL with 147 penalty minutes with the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Around the ECHL

The Manchester Monarchs clinched a playoff birth on April 2 and now sit in 3rd place in the North Division with 83 points through 69 games…. the Allen Americans (former Worcester Sharks ECHL affiliate) are 12-0-1 in their last 13 games and lead the Mountain Division with 98 points…there are just three playoff spots remaining left to grab (2 in the South and 1 in the Mountain)…..Tulsa has lost 10 straight games…Indy has won five straight and hold a one point lead over Alaska for the final playoff spot in the Mountain Division….Former Shark Chad Costello continues to lead the ECHL with 116 points for the Allen Americans – Casey Pierro-Zabotel with the Colorado Eagles is in 2nd with 88 points….
