Worcester Railers HC announce online Slap Shot jersey auction

A portion of the proceeds to benefit the American Diabetes Association

 Worcester, MA – The Worcester Railers Hockey Club (@RailersHC), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the New York Islanders (@NYIslanders) announced today that the Railers will host an online game worn jersey auction of their popular Slap Shot jerseys via www.RailersHC.com.

The Railers HC wore the Slap Shot themed jerseys on Saturday, November 4 in a 2-1 win over the Reading Royals.  Dr. Hook dropped the ceremonial first puck as the Railers celebrated the 40th anniversary of the iconic movie.

The online jersey auction runs through 8:00 PM EST on Sunday, November 19.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association.

On Tuesday, November 14, the Railers host the Brampton Beast at 10:05am for the city’s first ever pro hockey School Day Game. Over 4,000 students from the Worcester Public School System is expected to attend.  The game is also open to the general public and Railers HC members.  The game will be televised live on Charter TV3 with a replay at 7pm.

 The Railers Tavern, located behind the DCU Center is now open and will provide hockey fans with a great pregame and postgame atmosphere all season long.
