The heavy snowfall couldn’t stop the restless crowd gathered at the DCU Center on Monday afternoon and while the city has waited with bated breath for any sort of announcement related to the return of professional hockey to Worcester, the wait is finally over.
The city has thrown its support behind the efforts of Cliff Rucker, the Eastern Massachusetts businessman who is attempting to bring a professional hockey team back to the DCU Center in Worcester.
There was a time last Friday afternoon in Kalamazoo, Michigan, when Cliff Rucker wondered if all the time, money and energy he had expended on bringing an ECHL expansion franchise here had been wasted.
The ECHL announced on Monday that the Board of Governors has approved the Expansion Membership application of Worcester, Massachusetts for admission to the ECHL.
